THE TWO ROADS: HEAVEN OR HELL. NO MIDDLE GROUND.
Matthew 7:13-14 ESV — “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction... and the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life”
THE WORLD SAYS: “All roads lead to God”
JESUS SAYS: “I AM THE ROAD” John 14:6
PATH 1: REQUIREMENTS FOR HEAVEN, THE NARROW WAY
This is not a to-do list to earn God. This is the EVIDENCE that God has you!
1. REPENTANCE (Acts 3:19)
What it is: Holy U-TURN. Stop running FROM God. Start running TO God.
Truth: Godly sorrow leads to life. 2 Cor 7:10
2. FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST (John 14:6, Romans 10:9)
What it is: Jesus + Nothing. Not church. Not good works. JESUS ALONE
Truth: If you confess and believe YOU ARE SAVED. Period
3. OBEDIENCE TO GOD (Matthew 7:21)
What it is: “Lord Lord” means nothing without “Yes Lord”.
Truth: Obedience is love with feet on. John 14:15
4. BORN AGAIN BY THE SPIRIT (John 3:3-5)
What it is: A heart transplant. Old you dies. New you rises.
Truth: You can’t reform the flesh. You need a NEW BIRTH.
5. FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT (Galatians 5:22-23)
What it is: Love, Joy, Peace, Patience… This is Jesus living THROUGH you.
Truth: Trees are known by fruit. Not by leaves.
6. HOLINESS (Hebrews 12:14)
What it is: Set apart for God. No compromise.
Truth: Without holiness, NO ONE will see the Lord. That’s serious.
7. ENDURING IN FAITH (Matthew 24:13, Revelation 2:10)
What it is: Not a sprint. A MARATHON. Don’t quit.
Truth: The one who holds on to the end WILL BE SAVED.
8. WRITTEN IN THE LAMB’S BOOK OF LIFE (Revelation 21:27)
What it is: Your name. In ink. In Jesus’ blood. In heaven.
Truth: This is your eternal citizenship. Phil 3:20
SUMMARY: Saved by GRACE. Kept by GRACE. Empowered by the SPIRIT. Eph 2:8-10
PATH 2: REQUIREMENTS FOR HELL, THE WIDE WAY
This isn’t about “one mistake”. This is about a lifestyle that says “NO” to Jesus.
- UNREPENTANT SIN (Romans 2:5) — Storing up wrath. Hardening your heart.
- REJECTION OF CHRIST (John 3:18, Heb 10:26-27) — The only sin God can’t forgive is rejecting the Forgiver.
- DISOBEDIENCE & LAWLESSNESS (2 Thess 1:8-9) — “I do what I want” living.
- LIVING ACCORDING TO THE FLESH (Gal 5:19-21) — Slave to lust, anger, pride.
- WORKS OF THE FLESH (Gal 5:19-21) — The list is ugly because sin is ugly.
- UNRIGHTEOUSNESS (1 Cor 6:9-10) — Willfully living outside God’s standard.
- APOSTASY & LUKEWARMNESS (Revelation 3:16) — “God, I’m 50/50 with You.” Jesus says: “I will spit you out.”
- NAME NOT FOUND IN THE BOOK (Revelation 20:15) — The most terrifying sentence in the Bible.
SUMMARY: Hell was not made for you. Matt 25:41. But rejecting Jesus sends you there.
SO… WHICH WAY PADDY???
Joshua 24:15 — “Choose this day whom you will serve… But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
LISTEN: You don’t choose Jesus because you’re good.
You choose Jesus because you’re BROKEN and He’s the ONLY HEALER.
The devil wants you to think “I still have time.”
Hebrews 3:7-8 “TODAY, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart.
3-QUESTION SPIRITUAL CHECK-UP RIGHT NOW:
1. JESUS: Is He Lord OR just a suggestion in your life? Rom 10:9
2. SPIRIT: Is He producing NEW life or are you still dry? Gal 5:22
3. ENDURANCE: Are you ON FIRE, or lukewarm, or cold? Rev 3:16
RIGHT NOW
If your heart is beating fast reading this — THAT’S THE HOLY SPIRIT.
Don’t ignore Him.
PRAY THIS OUT LOUD WITH ME:
Jesus, I’m a sinner. I repent. I turn from my sin.
I believe You died for me and rose again.
Come into my heart. Be my Lord and Savior.
Wash me with Your blood. Fill me with Your Spirit.
Write my name in the Lamb’s Book of Life.
From today, I choose THE WAY — JESUS.
